Hourtin-Carcans, the largest freshwater lake in France
Lake Hourtin Carcans Maubuisson is the largest natural freshwater lake in France: it stretches 18 km long and 5 km wide.
Surrounded by dune forests to the west, it is linked to the Arcachon Basin by Lake Lacanau and a series of canals.
Its natural environment is particularly preserved (wild marshes, white sand dunes and forest). We practice a multitude of nautical activities: stand up paddle, kitesurfing, kiteboarding, sailing, windsurfing, dinghy, catamaran ...
